Presidential Cats, part 1

The late Socks the cat, famous resident pet of the Clinton-era White House, is shown here in various garden settings.

Socks was adopted as a stray. He was definitely not camera-shy and made many public appearances. He is said to have especially loved children and the outdoor lifestyle.

He spent the last years of his life with Clinton's former secretary, Betty Currie, in Hollywood, MD.

  1. It's a Kitler! Didn't Socks write a book? I was thinking he did.

  2. HI Kylee- Yes, Socks was a noted author and made many public appearances. He loved children and especially like visiting schools.
His mustache is a bit Charlie Chaplinesque to me. I think it showed his sense of humor.

  3. I love cats. I have 3. Buford looks just like Socks. David is all black and Lucy is gray. I named Buford and my grandson named David and Lucy. All of my cats came to my house after someone dropped them off. I got them spayed and neutered and shots. I love them so much.
