A Little Rascal

From Mike Whalen (http://www.capitalareaphoto.com/)
this is Rascal.

"He is Crystal’s brother (see Cats in Gardens 1/4/12 blog posting). It was taken in my back yard in Fairfax Station, VA, on 7/21/2008. This boy was truly the king of the castle."

Crystal Gazing

From Mike Whalen (http://www.capitalareaphoto.com/)

this is Crystal.

"It was taken in my yard in Fairfax Station, VA, on October 16, 2006.

Crystal was a lovable female cat that greeted us at the door every time we would come home."

Gesneriad Cat

Jinean of the Twin Cities Gesneriad Society submitted this adorable Minnesotan cat. (Gesneriads are the family of plants including African Violets, Sinningia, Streptocarcus, etc.)

"The black overgrown kitten in question is Walter who is 8 months old. His love of gardening has been apparent throughout the past few months. His tastes run towards gesneriads, but will sample, sleep on, or observe many other genera too."

He appears periodically on the Twin Cities Gesneriad Society's blog. Most recently he's been in http://twincitiesgesneriads.blogspot.com/2011/12/fungus-among-us.html and http://twincitiesgesneriads.blogspot.com/2011/10/making-natural-garden-for-show-part-1.html.

Kitty Break for the Holidays

Hi all -

Cats in Gardens is on a holiday break. Check back in right after the New Year for many new installments.

Meanwhile, if you have a photo to share of a cat in a garden setting here is how.
