Playful Pixie

Pixie is a 12-year-old tuxedo cat that lives in the UK with her human, Beth Wilson. Pixie is gaining internet fame with the playful way she engages with her plush toys both inside their home and out in the garden. 

"In summer, she likes to take them into the garden," Wilson explained to The Dodo website. "Sometimes, she just takes them for a tour and then back in the house. Other times, they get left in the greenhouse. If I put a blanket on the grass to sit on, she will put toys on it."

Porch Sitting

I visited the garden of Taffy Turner in Silver Spring, MD, recently when she hosted an open garden for local garden clubs and the hosta society. Her garden cats were not shy about having visitors in their domain and this charming kitty took in all in stride from her favorite napping spot on the front porch.

This is Jasper. Taffy writes, "He is the brother to Toby [see below]. They're about 6 years old, adopted from the shelter when they were about a year old. Jasper likes to help me in the garden, then have a rest on his chair on the front porch. He's a sweet, shy kitty who loves tummy rubs."

This Chester is no Cheetah

 

This photo is courtesy of Patty Heese. It is of a handsome cat named Chester at the Laurel Nursery/Garden Center in Latrobe, PA. Chester is doing a great job supervising the houseplant department and making sure everyday is Caturday at the garden center!

Chubby Cherub

Gerald Simcoe, a horticulturist and fine artist, living in Northampton, PA, shared these photos of Chubby. Gerald wrote, "He loves being outdoors, but not being cold, hence his sitting on the heat mat under grow lights. There wasn’t enough room, so he pushed the pots aside. I learned to save space for cat tanning."
