One of my favorite cat-focused social media accounts to follow is Bodega Cats on Instagram.

I think this image tells it all. These are working cats that keep the rodent population downs at this small. convenience stores, while also providing entertainment and company for the store's employees and customers. I don't know about you, but I love it when I enter a business and a cat is there to greet me or I discover one hidden among the cases of sodas and chips.

I thought this post in particular was a great one to share on the Cats in Gardens blog as it has it all -- a working cat taking a break in the catnip harvest basket. I hope you enjoy it and the many other terrific Bodega Cats on that Instagram feed. I'll just say in advance: "You're welcome!"

"The #shed is in need of repair, but it is a cozy place to have a #catnap."

If you have a covered space that can shelter feral cats in brutal winter weather, consider leaving the door ajar and creating a comfortable sleeping spot with old straw, blankets, or other padding. 

Best Friends in the Azaleas

Williams of LaGrange, GA, said, "Rumpled, gray tabby Clark (left) and black-and-white Moo (right) love this sunny patch in the azaleas at the end of the porch. It’s their favorite spot for Caturday naps—and for ignoring me when I call them. [deep sigh]."

Brenda Haas said, "This is Oppie Kitty and Kink Kitty. They are sleeping in my giant container up on the porch, which I am not going to plant until next week so it makes a good kitty bed."

Caught Napping

Joe Luebke of Hyattsville, MD, and is Director of Horticulture and Grounds at the Washington National Cathedral posted this cat photo to his Facebook profile.
